Indications
It is used in the treatment of infectious diseases that are caused by bacterial flora sensitive to Cefuroxime. Contraindications
Individual sensitivity to Ceftin and beta-lactam antibiotics, such as penicillins and cephalosporins.
Caution is necessary when using Ceftin in the treatment of newborns and premature infants, predisposition to bleeding, inflammatory lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, exhaustion, during breastfeeding and pregnancy.
Treatment with Ceftin is not possible with hypersensitivity to penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotics.
Use during pregnancy and lactation

Method of administration and dosage
Ceftin (Cefuroxime) is used for intramuscular or intravenous administration. Newborns should receive the drug at a dose of 30 to 60 mg/kg of body weight every 6 or 8 hours, children under one year-30 or 100 mg/kg of body weight every 6 or 8 hours, adults-750 to 1.5 g every 8 hours. If necessary, the interval between injections of the drug can be reduced to 6 hours, while the maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 g.
Overdose
With the introduction of high doses of Ceftin, the patient may develop emotional arousal, headaches and convulsions. If the patient shows symptoms of intoxication with the drug, he is given hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
Side effects
Treatment with Ceftin is very rarely accompanied by the development of side effects, but in the case of individual sensitivity to the drug, nausea, vomiting, headaches, dizziness, hearing loss, phlebitis, allergic reactions may occur.
